The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) invites applications for the position of Assistant Curator, Asian Art. This role supports the Asian Art department across exhibitions, displays, and the management and development of the NGV Collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and curatorial support, including maintaining records, budgets, schedules, and correspondence.
- Assist in implementing the NGV Collections Strategy and acquisitions processes, including cataloguing and documentation.
- Contribute to the planning, research, and coordination of exhibitions and displays.
- Participate in cross-departmental projects and manage assigned curatorial tasks.
- Support NGV’s publications and audience engagement initiatives through research, writing, and presentations.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated knowledge of Asian art, supported by a relevant tertiary qualification.
- Experience in curatorial practice, exhibition and project management, publishing, or research.
- Administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with collection management systems such as Vernon is highly desirable.
- Previous experience assisting with exhibitions, public programs, or collections is an advantage.
