
Assistant Curator (Collections)
You will be responsible for:
- Working closely with Curator of Collections in organising information about the M+ Collections and support efficient delivery of curatorial responsibilities, including cataloguing, documenting, writing, and preparing exhibition labels, and external presentations related to the M+ Collections for the wider museum;
- Ensuring that the museum’s high standards in cataloguing are upheld for objects from the areas of Design & Architecture, Moving Image, and Visual Art, with great attention to detail and preferably good with numbers;
- Conducting research into the M+ Collections including provenance, exhibition history, bibliographic references and technical information; and
- Supporting Curator of Collections with day-to-day administrative tasks as needed.
You should:
- possess a recognised university degree, preferably in Art History or equivalent;
- be punctual and highly collaborative; and
- have 4-5 years’ experience in a curatorial role, preferably within a museum environment,
- possess working proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) and English;
- demonstrate a passion for 20th and 21st century visual culture;
- have prior experience using The Museum System (TMS), or other collections management software; and
- Candidate with less experience will be considered as Curatorial Assistant.
