Kunsthal Rotterdam is Offering an Assistant Curator Internship

From April/May 2026, there is a position available for an intern supporting several exhibitions, including Flowers Forever and an exhibition on master Impressionist Paul Signac and his contemporaries.
Each year, the Kunsthal presents more than twenty exhibitions, supported by an extensive educational and public program. It reaches a broad and diverse audience: on average 250,000 to 300,000 visitors per year, a quarter of whom are under 26.
What will you do?
As an Assistant Curator intern, you will work closely with the curator on the preparation and execution of exhibitions. You will work at least four days per week, from April/May through September/October 2026 (exact dates to be agreed upon).
Your tasks include:
Assisting in the development and organization of exhibitions
Co-organizing incoming and outgoing loan logistics
Maintaining contact with external partners
Attending meetings and brainstorming sessions
Supporting the production and organization of events
Observing and contributing to exhibition design processes
Defining your own learning objectives
Who are you?
You are enrolled as a student (university level, at least third year) in art or cultural studies
You have a good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written
You are accurate, independent, proactive, and flexible
You have an open and curious attitude
You live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Kunsthal and are available on-site most of the time
