The aim of Tate is to increase public awareness, understanding and enjoyment of British art from the 16th century to the present day, and of international modern and contemporary art. The Curatorial Department, Tate Modern is responsible for the delivery of exhibitions, collection displays, live events and film programmes, ensuring the highest standard of content and delivery of this programme. It is also responsible for building the modern international aspect of Tate’s collections.

The performance programme is a key aspect of Tate Modern’s artistic programme and a vital part of the vision for the extended Tate Modern building due to be completed in June, which includes the Tanks, a permanent space for live performance, film and installation.

This post offers an opportunity to join Tate at what is a very exciting time in the development of the live programme and the gallery as a whole. You will contribute and support the delivery of Tate’s live programme and related events and projects as well as supporting the development of Tate’s collection of international art contributing to acquisitions of live related artworks. With proven relevant experience, a degree or an equivalent qualification in a relevant subject, you will have knowledge of and interest in international twentieth century and contemporary art with a demonstrable knowledge of performance and interdisciplinary practices.

As a member of the Curatorial team, your main responsibility will be to support the delivery of Tate’s live programme and related events using your outstanding administrative and organisational skills to communicate effectively between departments ensuring projects are delivered successfully, on time and to budget.

As well as maintaining documentation and administration and being on hand to assist in the logistics of staging the programme, you will collaborate with a variety of colleagues and build and maintain effective external relations.
