Deadline: November 1, 2012

The V&A is the world’s leading museum of art and design. Current plans to extend the outreach opportunities for V&A Collections include the development of the V&A at Dundee in Scotland where a new building will provide an international centre of design for Scotland.
V&A at Dundee will celebrate Scotland’s historic importance in design and host major exhibitions of outstanding international design that will appeal to the widest public and help develop understanding of our own and others’ cultural heritage.
It will become indispensable to custodians, academics, makers, teachers and industry locally and nationwide as a place for the cultivation and exchange of knowledge, opportunity and design innovation. It will develop new relationships with and build bridges between government, enterprise, business, culture and education, and most importantly with designers and makers and those that care for our design and heritage.
The impact of V&A at Dundee will extend throughout the country as a showcase for Scotland’s excellence in design, past and present, and a source of inspiration and opportunity for the Scottish creative industries. Through its work, it will contribute to an international presence and profile for Scotland’s design.
We are now looking for an Assistant Curator to work with the Lead Curator and Curatorial team in all aspects of research and administration related to the delivery of the History of Scottish Design gallery and its accompanying publication. Based at the V&A in London, the Assistant Curator will contribute to the development of the framework, themes and content of the V&A in Dundee and be responsible for the management of the documentation of objects, both electronic record creation and compilation of gallery reference materials.
