Assistant Digital Curator

The Serpentine is one of the most widely recognised organisations in the global contemporary art, design and architecture worlds, loved and respected by audiences, artists, donors and friends alike.  The addition in 2013 of a second space in Kensington Gardens, the Serpentine Sackler Gallery designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, has seen the Serpentine double its exhibition spaces and increase its public, outreach, digital and commercial presence.  A new leadership structure with Yana Peel as CEO and Hans Ulrich Obrist as Artistic Director marks an exciting new chapter for this unique organisation.

We are looking for an organised, experienced Assistant Curator who is a confident self-starter to work in the Programmes Team and assist the Curator of Digital.   You will have significant creative input into the overall programme, be part of a small team and assist in organising and delivering all aspects of the Serpentine Galleries’ digital commissioning series and digital projects.  You will also provide research support and assistance to the overall digital strategy of the Serpentine Galleries.

The Assistant Digital Curator will work in close collaboration with the Programme and Communication Teams to ensure the successful delivery of commissions, digital initiatives and support for cross departmental platforms. And will be primarily focused on the technical, logistical and relevant practical issues arising from the development and delivery of the digital programme.

Whilst the Assistant Digital Curator will be expected to play a key role in areas relating to digital and assist in the overall co-production and implementation of new innovative approaches in the digital field., they are also part of the Serpentine Team, which works together to ensure the smooth running of the Galleries as well as to promote the Serpentine as one of the leading modern and contemporary galleries internationally.
