We are looking for a new Assistant Registrar to join our registrar team who support object acquisition, lending, borrowing and other collections activities across the museum.
Working alongside curators, conservators, collection care and documentation colleagues this post will facilitate and coordinate collections activities such as loan, entry, exit, acquisition, and disposal. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the museum’s extensive collections. Working predominantly at the London Wall site you will carry out tasks with a high degree of accuracy, and enjoy solving complex and challenging logistical and documentation issues. You will be organised and self-motivated with the ability to prioritise your own workload. We are also looking for someone who is a committed team player and who has excellent communication skills.
We are also looking for candidates who have some experience of working with collections in a registrarial capacity (for example arranging loans and acquisitions) and knowledge of museum documentation processes. Practical experience of using a museum collections management system, handling and packing objects and arranging transportation and insurance for collections will be needed.
