Assistant/Associate Curator
The Assistant/Associate Curator conceptualizes, develops, researches and organizes small scale exhibitions with a focus on of contemporary art/artists and Hammer Projects. Works closely with the Chief Curator and curatorial team on the development and execution of larger exhibitions and projects. Position also coordinates incoming traveling exhibitions; supports the development of exhibition-related publications such as brochures and catalogues; drafts and coordinates exhibition tour proposal materials. Also participates in acquisitions process for the Hammer Contemporary Collection and other curatorial department initiatives. Represents the Museum to the outside community – in particular with artists, galleries and donors, and interacts frequently with visitors, scholars, and students through public programs, including exhibition tours and public talks.
