Job Description
Job Title: Associate Curator (Global Majority)
Location: Primary, 33 Seely Road, Nottingham, NG7 1NU
Reports To: Director
Salary: £26,000 (pro rata)
Role / Contract: Fixed Term Contract, either 3 days per week over 12 months or 2 days per week over 18 months, allowing flexibility to accommodate existing commitments. Anticipated start date in early 2024, subject to availability.
About The Role
The Associate Curator plays a vital role within the Primary programme team, actively contributing to organizational decision-making and supporting the broader 2024/25 program. This role’s development is tailored to the interests and vision of the successful candidate.
Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Develop and deliver a public program strand with a £10K budget, with the flexibility to work within existing structures or propose new initiatives.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the program team to shape Primary’s participation in the Transform season during summer 2024, focusing on celebrating global majority talent, creativity, and leadership.
- Equity and Inclusion: Contribute to program development with a strong focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (Primary’s EDI Policy) and co-production principles.
- Career Development: Aspire to a career as a Curator or Artistic Director in the cultural sector, with support provided through training, mentoring, and budget allocation for travel, accommodation, and access needs.
- Funding: This role is funded with Art Fund support.
