Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with curators to define and articulate visitor outcomes for exhibitions targeting diverse audiences.
- Supervise interpretation team members and ensure alignment of key messages with programming and audience goals.
- Develop engaging storytelling methods for objects, artworks, and ideas using text, interactives, audio guides, and other gallery experiences.
- Oversee in-gallery interpretation, including the M+ Guides Programme, VIP, and tertiary tours, alongside content creation and training for guides.
- Build and maintain relationships with the volunteer guide and educator community as needed.
- Plan and lead visitor research projects to enhance interpretive experiences.
- Contribute expertise to learning, curatorial teams, and the broader museum field.
- Participate in strategic planning and promote the role of interpretation within the institution.
Qualifications
- A recognized university degree in museum education, journalism, communications, creative media, cultural management, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in museum education, curation, communications, or digital storytelling.
- Proven ability to create engaging narratives for diverse learning outlets.
- Strong research skills and commitment to staying current with museum learning and interpretation practices.
- Collaborative team player with leadership and facilitation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
