The National Gallery has a vacancy for a CEEH Associate Curator of Spanish Paintings. The Associate Curator will support the Curator of Later Italian, Spanish and 17th-century French Paintings with the care and growth of the National Gallery’s Spanish collections, producing scholarly research, publications and interpretation.
You will support the Curator of Later Italian, Spanish and 17th-century French Paintings in seeking and recommending relevant new acquisitions and loans, and will, as appropriate, act as the curatorial lead on exhibitions, collection displays and gallery refurbishment projects.
In this role, you will participate in the Gallery’s ‘NG200’ programme for its bicentenary in 2024, including ‘The Main Event’, ‘National Treasures’ and ‘NG 200 for 200’ projects. As a member of the Department, this role will have line management responsibilities (usually 1 direct report) and provide leadership and pastoral care to the curatorial team, helping deliver an innovative, scholarly and collaborative curatorial vision.
