Position Summary
The Associate Educator, Public Engagement, advances adult programs at The Museum of Modern Art. This role involves creating and leading initiatives that introduce new ideas through art. The educator will organize artist talks, workshops, and performances focusing on the transformative power of art. This role supports audience development strategies and collaborates closely with the Manager, Public Engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage public programs for adults.
- Collaborate with internal and external parties to shape these programs.
- Oversee the execution of events and maintain active communication across departments.
- Evaluate programs, including creating surveys and reporting on findings.
- Support the Manager, Public Engagement in developing annual strategies for program development.
- Build networks with institutions and community partners to enhance collaborative efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in art history or related fields, master’s preferred.
- At least six years of relevant experience in museums or cultural sectors.
- Strong understanding of art history and program development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be available for evening and weekend work.
