The Jutta Held Award honors early-career research in art history with a socio-political focus. Funded by the Stiftung Kritische Kunst- und Kulturwissenschaften, the award celebrates the memory of Jutta Held (1933–2007), one of the first female professors in the field of art history. Held’s dedication to social issues and gender studies in art and cultural history is reflected in the award’s focus on critical, socially engaged approaches.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. dissertation, M.A. thesis, or publication within the last three years.
- Candidates should have graduated within the last five years.
- The award supports research in art history that addresses socio-political topics.
Award Details:
- The winner will receive €7,000.
- The recipient will be expected to conduct research for three months at the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte in Munich.
