Music.Multimedia.Management. is a 2-year interdisciplinary programme of professional development and international artistic event production, held by TRAFO Center for Contemporary Art, Szczecin Philharmonic Hall and Fjord Cadenza Festival (Norway).
The project aims to build capacity in the professional cultural sector. It is addressed to students and graduates of art universities, employees of institutions operating in the fields of culture and art, as well as people with artistic achievements who want to expand their knowledge in the field of management and production of interdisciplinary cultural events.
The program, encompassing six thematic areas (art curation, music education, artist management, team management, sound, light & multimedia) is designed in the form of online courses with hand-picked experts from around the world, evolving into practical training and mentored internships in Poland and Norway. Selected participants will avail of an opportunity to use the acquired knowledge in practical organization of artistic events in the two countries between 2021 and 2022.
TRAFO Center for Contemporary Art is in charge of the art curation module. The interdisciplinarity of arts is becoming more and more common and our audiences seek diverse aesthetic incentives that will allow them to actively participate in a cultural experience. It is a creative process based on a dialogue between artist-spectator, artist-listener in search of new forms of artistic expression, exploring current issues with new tools and technologies, approaching the world’s challenges through versatile means and methods.
The Head Tutor of the art curation block is the director of TRAFO Stanisław Ruksza. The Guest Tutors invited to participate in the programme include a number of recognized experts: Andrew Berardini (writer, editor, curator based in LA), Bartek Buczek (visual artist / Cracow), Marianna Dobkowska (curator / Warsaw), Anka Kobierska (producer and curator / Warsaw – Trójmiasto, Anna Marjankowska (art manager / Reykjavik), Nguyễn Quốc Thành (artist, curator / Hanoi).
