Call for curators

Pro Arts is accepting applications from curators for 2 x 2 Solos, an exhibition series commissioning new work from four accomplished emerging artists based in the Oakland/Bay Area.

Four curators will be selected for the project. Curators will, in collaboration with Pro Arts’ independent curatorial committee, finalize artist selections based on studio visits held in October/November 2015. Selected curators will then produce a solo exhibition with the artist they are paired with in Pro Arts’ downtown Oakland gallery space. This includes overseeing the production of new work, coordinating installation and layout of work, writing a curatorial statement, and finding a regional arts writer to produce an essay for the exhibition catalogue.

Final exhibitions will take place at Pro Arts in August – October, 2016. A $500 honorarium is provided.
