George Town Festival 2024 – Call for Proposals Guidelines

Welcome to the George Town Festival 2024 Call for Proposals! Here, we provide you with essential information to guide you through the application process.
How to Apply?
- The application should be completed by the key contact person of your program, who will serve as the main point of contact between your program and George Town Festival. If an interview is required during the selection process, we will reach out to the applicant.
- Submit your application online by filling out the form at: Application Form.
- Ensure you have a Google account for form submission.
- Multiple submissions are encouraged, although only one program is likely to be selected. If you wish to propose more than one program, please submit separate application forms.
- In the case of a collaboration or partnered project, please submit only one application form with the key contact person to prevent confusion.
Submission Details
- The submission deadline is 31st December 2023, Saturday, at 11:59 pm (GMT+8).
- Late submissions will not be accepted.
- A confirmation email will be sent upon submission.
- Applicants will receive notification of our final decision via email in early February 2024. We may conduct online or telephone interviews during the selection process if necessary.
Supporting Material
- We encourage you to provide additional supporting material relevant to your program, helping our artistic advisory panels better understand it.
- When uploading a file, it will be associated with your Google account for submission. Ensure this is the applicant’s Google account.
- For files larger than 10MB, email them to info@georgetownfestival.com with the subject line “Support Material: <Your Program Title>.”
- Name your files as follows: “type of file_<Your Program Title>,” for example, “Company Bio_George Town Festival 2024,” “Budget_Boria in the Dark,” etc.
Important Dates
- 31st December 2023: Closing date for submissions.
- Mid-January – Early February 2024: Notification of selection through email.
Important Notes
- Applications will be evaluated based on artistic merit and technical-logistical criteria by the artistic direction. Selected artists/companies are requested not to perform the proposed show in Penang within six months prior to the Festival.
- For performing/performance art, it is essential to submit a video of your proposed piece, which can be a work in progress or a rehearsal, but not a teaser.
