Call for Interns
Civitella Ranieri Foundation, Umbria, Italy
Civitella Ranieri Foundation is seeking candidates for its 2025 Internship Program, offering a unique opportunity to live and work in a 15th-century castle in Umbria, Italy. This renowned residency program hosts international writers, composers, and visual artists, fostering cultural exchange and collaboration. Interns gain valuable experience in public speaking, teamwork, event planning, and arts programming while supporting the foundation’s daily operations and engaging with its vibrant community.
Internship Details:
- Duration: 12 weeks between April and November 2025.
- Compensation: Round-trip airfare, lodging, meals (lunch and dinner six days a week), and a weekly stipend of $200 for incidental expenses.
- Application Deadline: January 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST.
- Language Requirements: Strong English proficiency is required. Preference is given to candidates with Italian language skills and the ability to drive a stick shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare for Fellows’ arrivals, provide transportation, give facility tours, and distribute orientation materials.
- Assist Fellows with tasks, run errands, greet guests, and support office and gallery operations.
- Accompany Staff and Fellows on cultural excursions, providing materials and tour assistance.
- Help organize weekly events, set up technical equipment, and foster an inclusive environment at communal dinners.
- Manage the library’s inventory and catalog new acquisitions.
- Support the tracking and maintenance of the art collection.
- Act as the primary on-site staff contact for Fellows, including emergency support.
Schedule and Flexibility: Interns work primarily Monday-Friday from 11 AM to 5 PM, with dinner duties each weeknight. Availability for mornings, evenings, and weekends is sometimes required based on events and emergencies.
Eligibility and Skills:
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Experience in the arts, study/work abroad, and cultural exchange preferred.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative with a positive and diplomatic attitude.
