The Patronato de Arte Contemporáneo A.C. (PAC) announces its 2025 Call for Proposals, inviting artists, collectives, curators, and cultural managers based in Mexico to submit projects in contemporary art.
Categories:
- Artistic Projects – Collective, experimental initiatives that engage communities through various formats, processes, and dynamics.
- Curatorial Projects – Collective curatorial proposals where the majority of participants are Mexican nationals or residents. Institutional curatorial projects generated for the applicant’s workplace will not be considered; however, curatorial projects for exhibitions in other national venues are eligible.
- Pedagogical and Art Education Practices – Experimental proposals using contemporary art as a tool for dialogue on specific issues or initiatives that contribute to artistic professionalization, support, reflection, and dissemination.
- Editorial Projects – Collective research, criticism, theory, or art history projects in print and/or digital formats that have a clear and relevant connection to the development of contemporary art in Mexico.
General Requirements:
- Projects must be completed within 12 months of receiving support.
- Applicants must submit an online application form with all required information.
- Groups, organizations, or associations must designate a responsible individual to sign agreements and issue fiscal receipts.
- PAC offers funding with or without co-investments, with a maximum contribution of MXN 100,000 (taxes included) per selected project.
- Applicants must provide letters of support from institutions, companies, or individuals confirming participation (e.g., exhibition spaces, publishers, venues).
- If the project requires additional funding, applicants must specify other funding sources and the amounts contributed, including self-funding when the budget exceeds PAC’s grant.
- Each participant may submit only one application per project.
- Projects must take place within Mexico. The call is open to Mexican nationals residing in the country and foreign residents with at least two years of residency in Mexico.
- All budgets must be presented in Mexican pesos (MXN), including applicable taxes.
- Individual projects solely promoting an artist’s work will not be considered.
- Proposals exclusively focused on other artistic disciplines such as film, music, dance, theater, circus, or literature will not be reviewed.
Application Period:
- Submissions are open from Monday, March 3, 2025, to Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
- The final application deadline is April 22, 2025, at 11:59 PM (Mexico City time).
Evaluation and Results:
- Selected projects will be announced on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
- Project leaders will be notified via email with details on the funding process.
- The number of supported projects will depend on available funds.
- PAC’s selection decisions are final.
