Call for proposals: The Caribbean Culture Fund
Introduction to the Caribbean Culture Fund Call for Proposals
The Caribbean Culture Fund (CCF) is excited to launch its first-ever call for proposals, in partnership with Le Centre d’Art. This opportunity targets artists and cultural organizations from Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti. The second call, later in 2024, will expand to include more countries.
How to Apply
Interested parties should submit their cultural and creative project proposals in April 2024. Projects should align with the fund’s values and demonstrate feasibility, quality, and the leadership team’s capability. The application form is available in English, French, and Spanish.
Funding Areas
CCF aims to fund projects across various genres including Visual and Performing Arts, Festival Arts, Film, Interdisciplinary Art Forms, Architecture, and Design.
Grant Details
- Art for Social Change and Civic Engagement: CCF will award ten grants of $10,000 each for projects that address social change or continue existing initiatives. Projects should focus on education, experimentation, and inclusivity.
- Caribbean Collaboration: Six grants of $25,000 each will support projects that encourage regional cooperation and art promotion across linguistic and geographic boundaries. Projects may include joint productions or translation efforts.
Budget and Discipline Requirements
Applicants should not request more than the stated amounts and must provide co-financing proof if needed. The fund welcomes applications from all artistic genres.
Values and Exclusions
CCF values creativity, commitment, inclusion, sustainability, and knowledge transmission. It will not fund purely commercial activities, high-budget projects without co-financing, or projects promoting harmful content.
Application Process
Applicants must apply online or via email by April 30, 2024. Selection panels will review submissions based on theme alignment, creativity, technical quality, cost-effectiveness, and cultural impact. The CCF will notify successful applicants and sign funding contracts. Grants are disbursed in two parts: 50% upon signing and 50% after receiving satisfactory interim reports.
