Chief Curator
The Chief Curator is an essential partner of the Museum Director in building and strengthening the artistic identity and team with tremendous opportunity for innovation, positive leadership, and culture-setting at a critical time for the Pérez Art Museum Miami and the museum field at large.
Position Overview:
The Chief Curator is responsible for the overall development of the Museum’s curatorial programs; the coordination of the museum’s exhibitions, research, publications, acquisitions, and donor contacts related to PAMM’s exhibitions and permanent collection; and the conceptualization of curatorial integrated programs to enrich and expand cultural opportunities for the museum’s diverse audiences.
The Chief Curator is a visible and accessible role expected to build strong relationships with the team, the trustees, artists in the community, and campus stakeholders.
The Chief Curator delegates curatorial and administrative duties to respective staff, as appropriate. The Chief Curator leads the collegial process by which the curatorial staff research, develops and realizes the annual exhibition schedule programs in support of the Museum’s mission. The Chief Curator collaborates closely with Collection and Exhibition Support staff, as well as outside curators and artists, to assure professional, efficient, and quality presentation of all designated exhibitions.
