Job summary
The scope of Harewood’s programme and engagement with our visitors, alongside a continuous growth in membership, has broadened greatly over the past five years. Building on a legacy of over 30 years of contemporary programming, Harewood supports new commissions, launched a Biennial in 2019, totally reimagined Christmas in a country house, and gained several new acquisitions for our Arts Council Accredited Museum and Outstanding Designated Collection.
Main purpose of the role:
- Responsible for the curatorial programme, the Museum Accredited collection and acquisitions, site-specific commissions, temporary exhibitions (inside and out), research and archives.
- Be a proactive member of the Executive leadership team.
- Lead on all aspects of Harewood’s artistic leadership in close liaison with colleagues:
- Be a catalyst in advancing Harewood’s profile and audience, based on our audience segmentation research.
- Represent theTrust’s innovative approach to our collections and programming through our significant collections of art, landscape and the living world.
- Create this programme in order to build a shared understanding of our rapidly changing world with our audience; to address the urgent issues of our time and to promote and nurture a more equitable and creative society.
