CIMAM, the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art, offers around 30 travel grants. These grants support the attendance of curators, directors, and museum professionals in modern and contemporary art at the CIMAM 2024 Annual Conference in Los Angeles from December 6 to 8, 2024.
Host and Supporters
The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), and the Hammer Museum at UCLA are hosting this three-day event. The Getty Foundation is the major supporter.

Benefits for Grantees
Travel grantees will become CIMAM members for the duration of their award. They will enjoy networking opportunities with international museum directors and peers, enhancing their professional development and international visibility.
Conference Highlights
The 2024 conference will convene museum directors, curators, architects, artists, and visionaries to discuss contemporary art practices and sustainable futures. It will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and special tours related to the PST ART event by Getty, focusing on art and science.
Eligibility and Application Process
Grants are available to museum directors and curators needing financial support to attend the conference. Applicants should not engage in commercial activities related to visual arts. The selection process prioritizes junior directors and curators with less than 10 years of experience. Applications must be submitted in English.
Coverage and Conditions
Grants cover conference registration, travel expenses, four nights of accommodation, and CIMAM membership until December 2025. They do not cover pre/post-conference tours, airport transport, visa expenses, or personal insurance.
