Programme Overview
Circular Culture, an initiative by the British Council, operates in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela. The program offers financial and training resources to promote artistic exchange between Latin American, Caribbean (LATAC) countries, and the United Kingdom. It aims to strengthen cultural festival offerings and develop a sustainable cultural sector.
Objectives
The programme focuses on:
- Promoting exchanges between artists, creators, and local managers
- Enhancing public access to international artists, creators, researchers, and scientists
- Providing technical skills for sustainable development through training
- Developing knowledge networks
- Facilitating global cultural exchange
Grant Details
The Circular Culture Grant provides a total fund of £350,000 (GBP). It targets cultural and artistic festivals, both in-person and digital, in the listed countries. Festivals seeking collaborations, artistic exhibitions, or training activities with British professionals are encouraged to apply. The aim is to foster changes in attitudes, narratives, and practices related to sustainable culture.
