Introduction to Coast Contemporary 2024
The 2024 Coast Contemporary Research Journey & Assembly offers an exciting opportunity for curatorial professionals. This program, scheduled for September 15-19, 2024, promises a rich blend of performances, talks, screenings, and conferences along Norway’s scenic coast.
About the Program
Coast Contemporary stands as a unique platform for art and discourse, connecting Norwegian and international curators, artists, and cultural workers. The event, set in Oslo and nearby areas, encourages the exchange of ideas and fosters new collaborations. The program extends to Bergen for international visitors until September 22.
Artistic Direction and Participation
Tanja Sæter, founder and artist, leads the eighth edition as Artistic Director, setting the year’s curatorial focus. The event welcomes various contributors, including independent curators and established institutions. Kenneth Varpe oversees digital presentations, continuing his partnership with Sæter since 2017.
Support and Funding
The Norwegian Consulate General in New York covers travel, meals, and accommodation for participants. This ensures a comfortable and immersive experience for all attendees.
Eligibility and Application Process
This call is open to alumni of the Curatorial Intensive, Curatorial Research Fellows, and Curatorial Seminar participants based in the U.S. Interested candidates should email their applications to Zoe Dobuler at zoe@curatorsintl.org by March 10, 2024. Applications must include a brief proposal, bio, CV, images of past projects, and relevant links.
