Objective: British Council seeks a collaborative UK-Kenya architectural practitioner team for the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025.
Background
The British Council’s commission at the Venice Architecture Biennale aims to foster debate influencing the future of British and global architecture. The 2023 exhibition, “Dancing Before the Moon,” received a Special Mention for National Participation at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition.
Call for Teams
Criteria:
- Develop and deliver an exhibition in the British Pavilion in Venice.
- Team composition: architects, exhibition designers, curators, educators, or those with a design or built environment background, with expertise in exhibition development.
- The 2025 exhibition will be part of a British Council year of collaboration between the UK and Kenya.
- Encourages proposals from teams with a UK partner based outside Greater London or in Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland.
- Inspire new perspectives in contemporary architecture and address global challenges.
- Present a compelling narrative and a clear exhibition design concept within the agreed budget.
- Flexibility for physical and digital experience by a global audience.
