Volunteering in the Communication Department
As part of our Volunteering program in the field of communication, we offer an exciting insight into the world of communication work. The two-year program provides comprehensive knowledge and insights into various departments of the Berlinische Galerie.
Tasks During the Volunteering Period
Our volunteers assist with various tasks, including:
- Planning and coordination of advertisements and promotional materials
- Communication work for special exhibitions
- Handling press inquiries and clippings
- Copyright management
- Preparation of press materials
- Support for events (press conferences, openings, and special tours)
- Website maintenance: Press downloads, event calendar
- Address management and target group lists
- Coordination of admission price and flyer partnerships
- Tourism marketing (online portals and inquiries for entries in publications)
- Creating PowerPoint presentations
- Complaint management and visitor information at the museum
- Handling general inquiries (written and oral)
- Internal communication (in-house newsletter)
- On-call availability
Qualifications
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- Completed university studies (M.A. / Master) in art history, cultural management, communication and media studies, or a related field
- Experience with relevant software, knowledge of social media, Photoshop, InDesign, and CMS (Typo 3)
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, foreign language proficiency, flexibility, and resilience
- Experience in the cultural or media sector is advantageous
What We Offer
We provide a two-year full-time volunteering program in an interesting and exciting work environment. You have days off on December 24th and 31st. Additionally, you will receive a subsidy for a job ticket and compensation in accordance with the guidelines of the State of Berlin for volunteers (currently 50% of E 13 TV-L stage 1).
