Working hours: Monday to Friday, 10am–6pm (occasional evenings and weekends)
OMR, one of Mexico’s leading contemporary art galleries, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Communications Director to lead its communications department. Reporting directly to the General Director, this senior role is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive multichannel strategy that reflects the gallery’s brand, supports its public programs, and expands its audience engagement across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a data-informed multichannel communication strategy aligned with the gallery’s vision and programs across three locations and international art fairs
- Ensure brand consistency across all outputs: website, social media, newsletters, press relations, print materials, and public programming
- Lead and mentor the Communications Manager and Junior Designer
- Analyze digital engagement metrics and adapt strategies to maximize impact
- Act as liaison between the Communications team and senior leadership
- Manage media relations, press materials, promotional content, and public messaging
- Oversee departmental budgets, timelines, and production schedules
- Identify opportunities for audience development and brand visibility, locally and internationally
Candidate Profile
- Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in cultural communications
- Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken)
- Proven success with multichannel campaigns and team management
- Strong writing, editing, and narrative skills across digital and print formats
- Advanced analytical skills (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Insights)
- Solid understanding of brand strategy and content development
- Deep interest in contemporary art and visual culture is essential
