The Berlinische Galerie is one of Berlin’s most experimental museums, focusing on modern art, photography, and architecture created in Berlin. In preparation for a major renovation starting in 2028, including a new depot building, the institution is seeking a dedicated coordinator to manage office operations and oversee the planning stages of the “Masterplan Berlinische Galerie”.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize meetings, sessions, and conferences for the foundation’s governing bodies
  • Manage schedules, travel, and communications for the Directorate
  • Coordinate all aspects of the Masterplan with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare documents and conduct research
  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems
  • Handle German and international correspondence

Requirements

  • Relevant degree (Bachelor’s or vocational qualification in office management or similar)
  • Several years of professional experience in office administration
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing demands
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication in German and English (C1), plus a third language preferred
  • Service-oriented attitude, professional demeanor under pressure
  • Team spirit and discretion
  • Experience in cultural institutions, ideally museums, is an advantage
