Team Research, Innovation & Advancement.
(16 hours with possible extension to 24 hours for project-based work)
What will you be doing?
- You are the first contact point of the Design and Social Justice department and the linking pin between the research done at the department and the education division within Design Academy Eindhoven;
- You discuss and coordinate content with the Professor of Design & Social Justice and oversee the development of projects at the department by obtaining direct input from the Professor;
- You monitor the progress of research activities; you develop and maintain records of research activities, and prepare periodic reports as required by administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies;
- You are responsible for overseeing the budgets and timelines of running projects at the DSJ department;
- You focus on process, identification, problem-solving, and expectation management. You therefore systematically consult with Tutors, students, internal support departments, and external partners.

- You have an academic working and thinking level and expertise in research within an educational context;
- You have excellent organizational and advisory skills and work precisely;
- You are able to work independently as well as within teams;
- You are curious and persuasive and have the enthusiasm to gain and keep support, from idea to implementation;
- You get energy from a dynamic environment where you can quickly switch between activities, tasks, and stakeholders;
- You have an excellent command of Dutch and English in both speaking and writing;
- You have the right documentation to work in the Netherlands and are able to provide a VOG certificate which we will request for you.
What will you get in return?
A creative and international workplace where you’ll receive:
- A year contract for 16 hours with possible extension to 24 hours for project-based work;
- A salary scale 11 within the range of € 3.881,- and 5.332,- gross per month based on 36 hours;
- Reimbursement of your public transport costs or a kilometer reimbursement of € 0,21 per kilometer;
- A workplace within the centre of Eindhoven. Within walking distance from the train station and a parking spot next to the building;
- The possibility to divide the hours over several days and work from home and a home-work allowance € 2,15/day;
- A holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% and other conditions in accordance with CAO-HBO;
- A good ABP pension scheme and room and attention for you as a professional.
Your future colleagues
Your team consists of people who are passionate about exploring what design can do for social justice. In aiming to define and work on this bigger objective you will collaborate with a diverse range of colleagues both at DAE as well as through different (EU-funded) research projects that the department undertakes. First and foremost, you will work intensely with the Professor of Design and Social Justice who is your leading manager. You furthermore work closely with other colleagues from the team Research, Innovation, and Advancement such as the Liaison & Funding Advisor and the Relation Manager for Education and Research. Part of your extended team will be Professors and Research Assistants from other design universities that the department is conducting research with.
