Coordinator of Performances, Special Projects – Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, United States

Schedule: 35 hours per week, fully on-site
Salary: $24.94 per hour
Reports to: Associate Director of Public Programs

The Philadelphia Museum of Art seeks a Coordinator of Performances – Special Projects to support its public programming initiatives, including Friday Nights, A Nation of Artists programming, and other scheduled performances. The role focuses on coordinating logistics, artist relations, and internal communications to deliver vibrant live events that enhance visitor engagement across the museum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and book a range of visitor engagement programs, including live music, workshops, and community events
  • Manage performances for A Nation of Artists, coordinating with internal teams and external artists
  • Oversee logistics such as audiovisual setup, hospitality, crowd management, and floor plans
  • Maintain internal calendars, website updates, and reservation systems to ensure accurate scheduling
  • Develop program components for museum-led activations and arrange photography documentation
  • Ensure timely payment of financial obligations and prepare program updates for planning meetings


Qualifications

  • Experience in audience engagement and program development within the arts
  • Knowledge of live music or studio art practices preferred
  • Strong time management, organization, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively under tight deadlines
  • Experience building long-term relationships with artists and local creative communities
