The Creative Engagement programme at Southbank Centre is central to the organization’s artistic vision. It aims to make Southbank Centre a hub of creativity and inclusivity. The programme focuses on:
- Schools: Championing arts in education for primary and secondary schools, especially in south London and nationally through flagship projects.
- Emerging Artists and Creatives: Supporting new talent.
- Arts and Wellbeing: Enhancing community well-being through the arts.
The mission includes being a local arts centre and demonstrating national leadership in supporting children, young people, and communities. The schools programme emphasizes the importance of arts in the curriculum and promotes student creativity and potential. Projects like the Hayward Takeover and Imagine a Story place children’s and young people’s voices at the forefront.
Role Objectives for Creative Engagement Manager (Schools)
The Creative Engagement Manager (Schools) will report to the Director of Creative Engagement. Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Development: Driving the growth of the Schools Programme, aligning with Southbank Centre’s strategic priorities.
- Programme Management: Developing and delivering engaging, impactful year-round programmes for schools, linked to Southbank Centre’s artistic work and collections.
- Partnership Management: Building and maintaining national stakeholder partnerships.
- Outreach and Inclusivity: Extending the programme’s reach, especially to those often excluded from the arts and education.
- Team Leadership: Leading a team of arts professionals to meet KPIs and strategic goals.
- Promoting Diversity: Ensuring equality of access in the programmes, reflecting diverse talent and audiences.
