The British Council seeks proposals for a Gender Analysis project focusing on the arts, culture, and heritage sectors across ten countries. The purpose is to identify gendered barriers and dynamics within the creative industries, providing actionable insights to inform programme design and implementation.
Key Objectives
- Assess gender-related challenges such as unequal access to work, pay gaps, leadership representation, and digital divides.
- Provide insights into institutional practices, cultural norms, and patterns of power within the creative sectors.
- Inform British Council programmes and identify strategies to promote gender equality in the arts globally.
Eligibility
- Open to organizations or individuals with demonstrated expertise in gender analysis and the creative industries.
- Ability to conduct research across multiple countries, primarily through remote work.
Scope of Work
- Perform comprehensive research in ten countries with significant British Council arts programmes.
- Investigate laws, policies, cultural norms, and barriers affecting gender equality in the creative industries.
- Produce a shareable report with specific insights and general learnings for global application.
Deliverables
- A detailed report presenting findings and recommendations.
- Insights specific to the ten countries and transferable strategies for wider geographical contexts.
