About the Fellowship
The Cubitt Curatorial Fellowship – now in its 15th edition – is open to applications.
This unique opportunity for research and curatorial experimentation in the field of visual arts is based on a twenty-four month residency at the renowned Cubitt Gallery, the only such scheme in the UK. The Curatorial Fellowship has pioneered an individual model and developed into a major platform for curatorial development; leading Cubitt’s reputation as an experimental, artist-led institution for nurturing, showcasing, and reimagining emerging practice.
Since its inception in 2001, the Fellowship has supported fourteen curators & collectives at pivotal points in their career and propelled the work of over 400 emerging artists and curators, many that are now shaping the art world in organisations including; Glasgow International; Rijksakademie, Amsterdam; Kunsthalle Wien, or as artists and writers in their own right.
The Role
Cubitt is looking for a curator who has an in-depth knowledge of contemporary art, as well as enthusiasm for a wide range of thinking related to its growing programmes across Civic, Education, and Community activity.
The role requires initiative and a commitment to dialogue and collaboration, within and outside the organisation.
The position will be based onsite at 8 Angel Mews, N1, London, before moving to a future home and offering possible off-site programmes as this process develops. Support from Cubitt senior management will come in the form of both mentorship and practical support in delivering an exhibition programme within this time of change.
