Cultural Program Coordinator

Madrid Destino is seeking Cultural Program Coordinator for the 21 Districts Program, under a temporary replacement contract. The workplace will be Conde Duque.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be part of the Sub-directorate of Cultural Activities within the Production and Technical Coordination Directorate. Reporting to the Sub-director, they will perform the following tasks, among others:

  • Manage and mediate projects within the 21 Districts program.
  • Communicate and coordinate with district board representatives, heads of culture units, and cultural centers to ensure proper execution of activities.
  • Engage with artists, companies, collectives, independent spaces, and platforms to manage individual activities.
  • Establish partnerships and create collaborative frameworks with other municipal departments (Equity, Health, Education, and/or Environment).
  • Handle artist contracts and monitor budgets (contact and confirmation with artists, contract documentation, justification reports, document requests, coordination with other departments, etc.).
  • Manage calls for proposals and curate the catalog of activities.
  • Assist in preparing evaluation reports and the annual summary report.
  • Plan and oversee logistics required for activities.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for the smooth execution of assigned activities (reports, budget requests, invoice approvals, etc.).
  • Support budget and contract management related to assigned projects (minor contracts, instructors, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Basic, intermediate, or higher vocational training relevant to the position, or equivalent levels as established by regulations, with at least 4 years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with a basic level of Excel.
  • Key competencies: adaptability, work quality, interpersonal communication, alignment with the organization/public service orientation, initiative, results-oriented, teamwork, and collaboration.

Additional Considerations (Preferred):

  • Training in production, cultural management, or similar fields.
  • Experience in producing activities at cultural centers/institutions.
  • Event production experience.
  • Intermediate level of English.
