Position Overview: Curator
Wysing Arts Centre seeks a Curator for its Studios and Residencies Programs. This crucial role involves planning and implementing artist development programs and events that align with Wysing’s vision and funders’ priorities. The Curator will also work to enhance the Centre’s visibility and outreach.
Job Description
- Program Development: Collaborate with the Director and Deputy Director to plan and execute Wysing’s artistic programs.
- Artist Support: Offer development opportunities and support for studio holders and resident artists.
- Digital Strategy: Manage digital content strategies in collaboration with the Digital Producer.
- Public Engagement: Create opportunities for new audiences to interact with Wysing’s programs.
- Communication: Oversee the production of promotional materials and maintain accessible communication standards.
- Team Collaboration: Attend and lead meetings, manage staff, and contribute to professional development and program evaluation.
Position Details
- Salary: £30,000 per year
- Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week with some evening and weekend work
- Location: Wysing Arts Centre, Fox Road, Bourn, Cambridge
- Contract: Permanent, subject to a three-month review
- Reporting to: Director
Person Specification
- Essential Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative abilities, and a deep understanding of contemporary art trends.
- Experience: Proven track record working with artists and within the visual arts sector.
- Desirable: Experience in an arts organization and knowledge of digital media platforms.
