Role and Responsibilities
- Independently curate collections, exhibitions, publications, and programming.
- Conduct research and contribute to scholarship on modern and contemporary Ink, Singapore, and Southeast Asian art.
- Develop research specialisations to support ink collection policies.
- Network with ink artists, collectors, and patrons, understanding the global ink and Asian art market.
- Mentor and supervise junior colleagues in exhibition planning and professional development.
- Collaborate with the Library and Archives to enhance the Gallery’s archival materials.
- Participate in strategic planning and management within the museum.
- Engage in public programs like lectures and talks, and contribute content for marketing materials.
- Manage projects and handle ad-hoc assignments, including policy development and cross-functional group leadership.
- Teach in the Minor in Art History program at the National University of Singapore.
Qualifications
- MA in Art History or related discipline.
- Minimum of five years of relevant curatorial experience, preferably in the museum field.
- Expertise in ink practices across the Chinese diaspora, including Singapore and Southeast Asia.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English and Chinese.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Capable of contributing to the museum’s strategy and management.
- Good project management and organisational skills, with attention to detail.
- Teaching experience is an asset.
