Role Overview
Yorkshire Contemporary is seeking a skilled curator to lead partnership projects in Bradford during its UK City of Culture year. This role includes co-curating the Turner Prize 2025 at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, in collaboration with Bradford 2025, Bradford District Museums & Galleries, and Tate. The curator will work to connect local artists to this significant event, highlighting the regional arts scene on a national stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Exhibition Management: Co-curate the Turner Prize 2025, coordinating with multiple partners to deliver a high-profile, artist-centered exhibition.
- Artist Engagement: Work directly with artists to develop and realize varied projects, showcasing contemporary visual art from the region.
- Project Management: Oversee planning and implementation, ensuring the successful delivery of exhibition components within established timelines.
- Location Flexibility: Split time between Yorkshire Contemporary’s Leeds office and Cartwright Hall Art Gallery in Bradford, with full-time work in Bradford required from May to September 2025.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Extensive background in curating exhibitions, with direct experience in working with artists on high-level projects.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of the contemporary visual arts landscape in the UK.
