About the Role
Kunsthalle Lissabon is seeking a talented and motivated curator to join its team. This position is ideal for early-career professionals or those with up to three years of experience who wish to develop their curatorial practice in a critical and reflective international environment that remains grounded in local needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and contribute to the curatorial program known for its experimental and innovative nature.
- Collaborate with artists, organize exhibitions, and support artistic production.
- Conduct research and contribute to editorial, communication, and public programming initiatives.
- Critically explore and engage with the institution’s extensive archive of exhibitions.
- Plan and implement public programming projects, including studio visits, critical debates, and theoretical reflections.
- Manage the gallery space and provide a welcoming experience for visitors.
- Independently research with guidance from senior team members.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in curatorial studies, art history, social sciences, or a related field.
- Experience: Early-career professionals or those with up to 3 years of experience in curatorial work.
- Languages: Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
- Skills:
- Proficiency in social media management and standard software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Organizational, creative, and task-oriented abilities with resilience under pressure.
- Strong communication and independent research skills.
