V&A Dundee is hiring two Curators to support the research, development, and delivery of its diverse exhibitions programme. This includes ticketed and free exhibitions, Scottish Design Galleries, and design commissions. The roles offer the chance to work across historical and contemporary design disciplines and to shape how design is experienced by audiences in Scotland and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
-
Research and develop curatorial concepts across a range of design disciplines
-
Deliver exhibitions from concept through installation, including management of loans, insurance, interpretation, and budget

Work closely with exhibition designers and production teams to create innovative and accessible displays

Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including artists, lenders, curators, and designers

Ensure loan compliance, transport logistics, and coverage under the UK Government Indemnity Scheme
-
Promote inclusive programming and contribute to the museum’s equity and diversity goals

Represent the museum through talks, press engagement, and professional networking
Candidate Profile

Strong research skills and interest in both historical and contemporary design

Proven experience delivering large-scale exhibitions and managing complex stakeholder relationships

Demonstrated ability to embed inclusivity in curatorial narratives and programming

Excellent writing, communication, and negotiation skills

Understanding of end-to-end exhibition-making, from concept to public engagement

Familiarity with government indemnity, curatorial documentation, and exhibition design processes
Desirable

Experience with international touring exhibitions

Familiarity with RIBA stages and working with project managers and surveyors
