New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a Curator at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Curator to develop and deliver the Gallery’s exhibitions, programs, and research initiatives. The NYUAD Art Gallery operates on a kunsthalle model, connecting academic research with public-facing exhibitions. The Curator will work closely with the Chief Curator, faculty, and regional arts institutions to create meaningful exhibitions and programs for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and produce exhibitions integrating global perspectives
• Partner with faculty and guest curators for collaborative projects
• Supervise the Project Space and Christo and Jeanne-Claude Award exhibitions
• Develop creative programming, symposia, workshops, and residencies
• Represent the gallery externally and engage with local communities
• Support marketing, PR, and development initiatives

Candidate Profile

• Master’s Degree in Art History or related field (Doctorate preferred)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience curating exhibitions in institutional contexts
• Strong research, writing, and publication experience
• Understanding of museum best practices and collection care
• Experience commissioning artists and developing educational programs
• Professional fluency in English; additional language skills (Arabic or non-European) preferred
• Excellent organizational, communication, and team management skills
