The Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) seeks a Curator to advance the development of its exhibition program both on-site and beyond. This position involves organizing 4–5 exhibitions per year, working with artists, guest curators, and partner venues, and shaping interpretive and educational programming for diverse audiences. The Curator also participates in fundraising, public engagement, and cross-departmental collaboration, with potential to grow into a Senior Curator role.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual and multi-year exhibition plans

• Collaborate with artists, guest curators, and community partners

• Coordinate exhibitions-related publications, marketing, and didactic materials

• Engage with public and community through programs, lectures, and tours

• Support fundraising efforts and donor cultivation

• Manage exhibition budgets and schedules

• Liaise with the Exhibition & Art Committee and CAC staff

Qualifications

• BA or BFA required; MA in Art History or Curatorial Studies preferred; MFA ideal

• Extensive knowledge of contemporary art and culture

• Experience organizing exhibitions and projects in institutional settings

• Strong collaboration, writing, editing, and public speaking skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

• Understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion in arts programming
