The New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) is a leading cultural institution in regional NSW, housing over 5,000 works by iconic Australian artists (e.g., Margaret Olley, Brett Whiteley). With six galleries, a printing museum, and vibrant public programs, NERAM bridges local and national arts, fostering creativity and community connection.
Role & Responsibilities
As Curator and Exhibitions Manager, you’ll lead NERAM’s visual arts program, working closely with the Director to:
- Curate innovative exhibitions showcasing Australian art, with a focus on regional NSW artists.
- Manage all aspects of exhibitions, from research and design to installation, budgets, and grants.
- Develop partnerships with artists, galleries, and stakeholders to enhance NERAM’s profile.
- Oversee educational and public programs, collaborating with the Education Officer.
- Lead a team of staff/volunteers and contribute to strategic planning.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Art History, Arts Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience curating exhibitions in museums/galleries, including installation.
- Strong project management, grant-writing, and budget skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Established professional networks in the arts sector.
- NSW Driver’s License (or equivalent).
