Curator for the Munich Re Art Collection

The Munich Re Art Collection features over 3,000 works by international artists, ranging from painting, photography, and drawing to sculpture and site-specific installations. Artworks are displayed throughout the company’s premises, creating an inspiring environment for employees, clients, and guests.

As the Curator, you will play a key role in the development, management, and communication of the collection. Responsibilities include curating exhibitions, acquiring new artworks, and creating innovative presentation formats. You will lead a small team and collaborate closely with other departments, such as Corporate Communications and Real Estate and Services, to align artistic initiatives with Munich Re’s global strategy.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine the art collection and acquisition strategy.
  • Plan and execute exhibition projects, locally and internationally.
  • Conceptualize and implement art strategies for Munich Re’s global offices.
  • Organize and manage the art collection, including inventory and conservation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with artists, galleries, museums, and cultural organizations.
  • Coordinate art-related events, tours, and projects to engage employees and guests.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Communications to promote the collection.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Art History, Art Management, Cultural Studies, or related fields.
  • Experience:
    • Extensive curatorial or art management experience.
    • Expertise in contemporary art and knowledge of international art markets.
    • Proven track record in exhibition planning and project management.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in German and English (additional languages are a plus).
