Amos Rex is seeking a Curator specialising in Art, Technology and Society for a full-time permanent position starting in December 2025 or by agreement. The museum, located in the iconic Lasipalatsi building, has quickly become one of Finland’s leading contemporary art institutions, known for ambitious and immersive exhibitions.
Position Overview
The Curator will develop and deliver exhibitions, commissions, installations and public programmes aligned with Amos Rex’s curatorial strategy — exploring contemporary issues at the intersection of art, emerging technologies, and society. The role requires a strong curatorial vision, excellent communication skills, and an international perspective.
Main Responsibilities
- Curating exhibitions, commissions and public programmes
- Developing curatorial concepts and writing content for publications and media
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with artists
- Supporting research and development for exhibitions and events
- Engaging with audiences and representing the museum publicly
- Aligning curatorial projects with institutional goals
Candidate Profile
- MA in art history, curatorial studies, fine art, media studies or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience curating exhibitions and public programmes
- Strong international networks and engagement with societal issues
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English
- Collaborative and quality-driven mindset
