Role Summary
The British Museum invites applications for a Curator for its Asian numismatic collections. The successful candidate will undertake research, enhance public access to the collection, and contribute to publications, documentation, and exhibitions.
Responsibilities
- Make the Asian money collection accessible through publications, digital platforms, displays, and broadcasts.
- Lead research projects on the collection, including collaborations with external partners.
- Fundraise to support these research projects.
- Upgrade documentation and improve the display of the Asian money collection, both in the Museum and off-site.
Candidate Profile
- A degree or equivalent experience in Asian or Middle Eastern history, material culture, or archaeology.
- Knowledge of Asian or Middle Eastern languages.
- Experience in exhibition management, income generation, and leading research projects.
- Strong team player with effective communication skills and the ability to engage the public.
