Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery (MPRG), located in one of Victoria’s most scenic areas, has a long history of supporting contemporary Australian art, with a strong focus on works on paper. The gallery presents 12 exhibitions annually, including four exhibitions that spotlight local artists. It also manages the prestigious National Works on Paper Prize, one of Australia’s oldest art awards. The gallery is part of the Mornington Peninsula Shire, a local government body responsible for a wide range of services that support the wellbeing of the region’s vibrant community.

Role Overview
The Curator Collections will focus on exceptional collection management, planning for exhibition curation, high-level research, and contributing to public and educational programming. The role involves working closely with the Curatorial Lead and Gallery Director to ensure industry standards in collection care and accessibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, interpret, and care for MPRG’s Permanent Collection.
- Lead and implement collection management practices to industry standards.
- Support the gallery’s exhibition program with research, writing, public programs, and learning resources.
About You
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art History, Museum Studies, or Curatorial Studies.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in curating, collection management, conservation, and exhibitions development.
- Experience in delivering engaging exhibitions and public programming.
- Strong commitment to community engagement and the art sector.
