The Asian Department at the V&A is looking for a dynamic, well-organised curator to be responsible for the management of the Asian collections with regard to their display, storage, documentation and loan. You will ensure that the collections are maintained in a safe and secure environment and available for public viewing, administer the department’s loans programme; maintain and develop documentation on the collection; and act as the department’s Business Continuity co-ordinator.
You should have a degree or post-graduate qualification in a relevant field and experience of working in a museum. In addition you will have, or be willing to develop, an active curatorial and scholarly interest in an aspect of the Asian collections, ideally textiles of a particular region, and the ability to communicate knowledge to a wide audience.
