This position is ideal for a knowledgeable and accomplished curator with a passion for contemporary British art and a keen interest in working within a museum context. The role offers a dynamic opportunity to engage with both recent and historical developments in the UK art scene.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering elements of Tate Britain’s artistic programme, including exhibitions, collection displays, and new commissions.
- Researching and acquiring works by living British artists to enrich Tate’s Collection.
- Leading projects that align with Tate Britain’s artistic and audience priorities.
- Engaging with emerging, established, and under-recognized artists to narrate the evolving story of British art.
- Managing and collaborating with cross-departmental teams to ensure projects meet the institution’s strategic goals.
Requirements
- Expertise in contemporary British art with an inclusive, innovative, and often transnational perspective.
- Strong curatorial and research skills, complemented by project management proficiency.
- Ability to engage diverse audiences and contribute to Tate Britain’s vision, values, and strategy.
- Experience as a skilled line manager and an active team player.
