Salary: £32,000 pro rata (4 days per week)
Hours: 32 hours per week (including evenings and weekends in support of the programme)
Annual Leave: 21 days + bank holidays pro rata
Location: Remote until September 2025 (except for in-person workshops)
Reporting to: Head of Programme, Creative Learning
Responsible for: Freelance artists and event assistants
About the Role
The Mosaic Rooms, a leading London-based contemporary arts space for collective learning, care, and idea exchange, is seeking a proactive and focused Curator, Creative Learning. This new role involves coordinating and delivering an exciting, participatory programme aimed at inspiring and connecting diverse communities, including:
- Children and their grown-ups
- Families seeking refuge
- Young people and secondary schools
The role also includes additional responsibility for developing and managing the Young Collective programme.
Key Responsibilities:

Young Collective Project:
- Work closely with the lead artist and partners.
- Design and deliver a mentorship scheme.
- Liaise with CARAS to ensure the project is meaningful for young refugees.
- Ensure the programme aligns with the overall mission under the supervision of the Head of Programme.

Programme Coordination (People and Play):
- Organise the ordering of materials and AV setups.
- Write, edit, and send artist contracts.
- Support freelance artists by preparing event plans and risk assessments.
- Recruit and brief event assistants.
- Collaborate with gallery and events staff for smooth event execution.
- Liaise effectively with audiences, artists, collaborators, and the Mosaic Rooms team.

Community Engagement:
- Build positive relationships with key groups such as local secondary schools, youth organisations, community groups, and migrant and refugee communities.
- Assist in developing partnerships with key organisations.

Marketing and Reporting:
- Write engaging marketing materials to reach target audiences.
- Manage content for the departmental section on the website.
- Assist with reporting and data collection for internal use and external funders.
- Contribute to project evaluations, reports, proposals, and funding applications.

Additional Duties:
- Contribute to strategy, planning, and budget management (under the guidance of the Head of Programme).
About the Creative Learning Programme (2025):
The programme will deliver three major projects:

Yalla Let’s Play:
Three art and play sessions for families seeking refuge in local temporary accommodation, led by artist Natalie Zervou. -
The Mosaic Rooms Young Collective:
Monthly gatherings for creatively curious young people aged 18-25 who are seeking refuge and/or identify as part of the Global Majority, with no formal art education beyond GCSE level. The programme is led by Jacob V Joyce. -
Play Lab:
A research and development initiative led by artist Chahine Fellahi, centred on experimental and material-led play, offering a space for trial, failure, and creative exploration.
Additionally, the team will work to broaden access for existing project participants and other audiences underserved by The Mosaic Rooms.
