Providenza is seeking a Curator / Cultural Programme Lead to develop, coordinate, and oversee its artistic and cultural programming. Providenza is an artist residency and research space located in a natural, rural environment in Haute-Corse, dedicated to contemporary and transdisciplinary practices across visual arts, performance, cinema, music, art–science, and hybrid forms.

The role focuses on shaping the curatorial vision of Providenza’s core residency programme—two annual sessions hosting approximately twelve residents per year—as well as developing a public-facing event programme, including a summer festival. The Curator will work closely with artists, researchers, and local and international partners, supporting artistic projects while ensuring strong organisational, production, and mediation processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and develop a curatorial vision aligned with Providenza’s values

  • Research, select, and support artists and residents through open calls and invitations

  • Accompany artistic projects through research, coordination, and tailored support

  • Write and edit curatorial texts, presentation materials, and institutional documents

  • Coordinate production logistics, schedules, budgets, and contracts

  • Oversee hospitality, collective life, and mediation during residency periods

  • Liaise with communication teams and respond to residency-related enquiries

  • Support event programming, including a summer festival

Optional Responsibilities (depending on profile and budget)

  • Support programme development, partnerships, and fundraising initiatives

  • Contribute to the curation and/or production of partner programmes

Eligibility Criteria

  • Experience in curatorial practice or cultural programming (experienced or junior+)

  • Strong interest in emerging Mediterranean and international scenes

  • Excellent written French and strong English proficiency

  • Solid production and organisational skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and sense of hospitality

  • Interest in the Corsican territory and its cultural and ecological context

  • Driving licence (Category B)
